Record number of canceled flights from LaGuardia Airport
More than 2,300 flights were canceled as of Friday morning, according to flight tracking website FlightAware.com. Most of these flights were canceled due to winter conditions in the northeast.
2,341 US flights were canceled during one day, while 1,049 other flights were delayed. The worst affected U.S. airports are LaGuardia Airport in New York, Boston Logan Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport in NJ, all of which received 3-5 inches of snow this morning. The US airline with the most cancellations was Southwest, followed by United, American Airlines, jetblue, and Alaska Airlines.
