American Airlines relaunches its flights to Pointe-à-Pitre in Guadeloupe
American Airlines will relaunch its flights between Miami and Pointe-à-Pitre next month, suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
As for Martinique, the American company will offer a flight every Saturday between its base in Miami and Pointe à Pitre-Guadeloupe Pôle Caraïbes airport, operated under the American Eagle banner in an Embraer 175 that can accommodate 12 passengers. in First Class, 20 in Main Cabin Extra and 44 in Economy. Departures are scheduled at 11:01 a.m. to arrive at 2:36 p.m., with return flights leaving Martinique at 4:18 p.m. to land in Florida at 6:52 p.m. Tuesday flights should be added during the end-of-year holidays, then between February and the end of March 2022.
American Airlines is in competition on this route with Air France, the latter due to inaugurate two new routes to New York-JFK and Montreal; JetBlue will be back between JFK and Pointe-à-Pitre in mid-December.
The relaunch of flights by the Oneworld alliance company is a major boost for Guadeloupe’s tourism industry, which was hit hard by several blockages linked to the health crisis in the second half of last year.
