ITA Airways offers three weekly flights to Miami from Rome
Airline ITA Airways has inaugurated its new route between Rome and Miami, before opening routes to Boston on Wednesday and other cities in the Americas and Japan by summer. It has also enriched its loyalty program, Volare, and presented the list of names of Italian sportsmen whose Airbuses will be baptized.
The new Italian national airline, which has replaced Alitalia since October 15, will operate flights to 64 destinations in the summer of 2022, including 23 national and 34 international, including 7 intercontinental. The latter are “the great novelty for this new season” of ITA Airways which, thanks to its Airbus A330 and A350 (expected from June), can reach the “most important destinations of world tourism”. On March 1, 2022, ITA inaugurated three weekly flights between its base in Rome-Fiumicino and Miami airport, operated by Airbus A330-200 on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays, before taking off today for Boston-Logan (A330-200 flights on Wednesdays and Saturdays), without competition in the first case and against Delta Air Lines in high season in the second. Both routes will be offered daily between June and September.
On April 2, ITA Airways’ first intercontinental flight from Milan-Malpensa will fly to New York-JFK every day except Wednesday and Friday, facing American Airlines, Delta, Emirates and Neos, plus United Airlines and La Company to and from Newark.
Finally, from June, the Italian company will connect its capital to the airports of Los Angeles, Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo and Tokyo-Haneda. “Thus, from June 2, ITA Airways conquers two of the main markets, the United States and South America, which have always been the favorite destinations of Italian holidaymakers and the most populated countries of Italian origin. These two markets are also very important destinations for business and goods traffic.
ITA Airways’ summer 2022 season will also feature “the most popular Mediterranean destinations”, with new routes to the islands of Italy, Spain, Greece and Croatia. In particular, ITA Airways will operate seasonal flights in August from Rome and Milan-Linate to Lampedusa, Pantelleria, Corfu, Heraklion, Rhodes, Ibiza, Menorca and Palma de Mallorca. Also in August, the destinations of Kefalonia, Dubrovnik and Split will be served from Fiumicino, as well as Thessaloniki from Linate.
Thanks to its codeshare agreements with “the main international carriers”, the member of the SkyTeam alliance is also continuing to develop its commercial strategy: ITA Airways has signed to date with Air France-KLM, airBaltic, Air Europa, Air Malta, Bulgaria Air, Croatia Airlines, Air Serbia, CSA Czech Airlines, Delta, Etihad Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines, Kenya Airways, Luxair, Middle East Airlines (MEA), Pegasus Airlines, TAP Air Portugal, Royal Air Maroc, Saudia and TAROM . A total of 20 codeshare agreements have been signed for a total of 248 destinations served under the AZ code.
