American Airlines extends suspension of flights to Haiti
American Airlines has made an important decision regarding its flights between Miami (MIA) and Toussaint Louverture in Port-au-Prince (PAP).
The national carrier of the United States has decided to temporarily suspend its flights to the Haitian city.
According to a concordant source within the American airline, the resumption of “daily” flights between the two airports can be resumed in late 2025.
The decision to cease operations on routes to Haiti, taken by the airline is not new, but dates back to last November 11, after AA and two other American airlines, JetBlue Airways and Spirit Airlines, discovered that one of their aircraft had been hit by gang gunfire, while flying in the airspace of Port-au-Prince.
As a reminder, JetBlue Airways served regular flights to Port-au-Prince airport from its hub at New York JFK airport.
