American Airlines received 5 new Boeing 737 Max in January
American Airlines announced on Friday that it had received five Boeing 737 Max aircraft since the start of the year and expected to receive six more aircraft later this year, as well as a total of ten in 2022.
The airline said in a regulatory statement that it had already put in place the necessary financing for half of the 737 Max that still needs to be delivered to it this year.
“We have the possibility of postponing until 2023 or 2024 the delivery of the 13 Max planes which do not have firm financing,” said the group in a document sent to the Securities and Exchange Commission, the US stock market authority.
American did not receive a Boeing 787 in January and expects to receive 19 in 2021, says the document, while financing has been negotiated for all of these models.
