American Airlines strengthens to Mexico by launching a direct flight to Cozumel
American Airlines will have more flights to Mexico starting in June when it launches a new route from Austin, Texas to the island of Cozumel. This new route will complement the airline’s current service to Cozumel from hubs in the United States including Dallas/Fort Worth, Charlotte, Philadelphia, Chicago and Miami.
The new route from Austin to Cozumel will begin June 11, with frequencies on Saturdays operating an Embraer E175 aircraft, with a capacity of 76 passengers.
“We are excited to continue expanding our operations in the Mexican Caribbean with a new service, as Cozumel is a key destination for Americans in Mexico,” said José María Giraldo, general manager of operations for Mexico, the Central America and the Caribbean.
With the new route, we are proud to continue to strengthen our position as America’s premier airline in the country, celebrating eight decades of service this year.
