How to donate airline loyalty miles to charities
You can do well with your airline’s frequent flyer miles. Through airline programs, nonprofit charities can use donated frequent flyer miles to provide flights to people who need to travel for medical reasons, for voluntary disaster compensation, and for special programs for Veterans, most major airlines partner with charities to mine those unused frequent flyer miles.
Within the framework of the SkyMiles program of the American company is Skywish Miles. The initiative connects frequent travelers with 15 non-profit organizations that care for sick and injured military personnel and veterans receiving medical care; volunteers who build affordable housing around the world; children with life-threatening illnesses who need specialist hospital care; and volunteers who help with disaster relief and recovery. Charities supported by the airline’s program include the American Cancer Society, Hero Miles (to help injured veterans), Habitat for Humanity, and the Make A Wish Foundation.
