Wifi on Board: Delta Air Lines chooses Viasat in-flight connectivity
Delta Airlines has selected Viasat’s next-generation Ka-band satellite technology to modernize the way its passengers stay connected and enjoy content on their travels.
These will benefit, free of charge, from improved and reliable in-flight internet capabilities, including faster, more consistent connections and the ability to stream all types of popular and entertainment to any device connected to the internet.
As a first step, Delta plans to integrate this technology on board a total of 300 aircraft – models A321ceo, 737-900ER and some 757-200 planes – from the summer of 2021. But the company is not ruling out the possibility of equipping additional planes during a second phase.
