Atlantic Airways connects Vágar to New York with direct flights
From August 22 and until October 16, 2023, Atlantic Airways will fly to New York from one of the islands of the Faroe Archipelago.
With two weekly flights in its schedule, Atlantic Airways passengers will have more flexibility in planning their trips and can easily explore both the picturesque landscapes of the Faroe Islands and the bustling city life of New York in the United States. This new connection will not only benefit tourists, but will also strengthen trade ties between the two countries.
A notable aspect of this service is the codeshare agreement between Atlantic Airways and Air France-KLM. Codesharing allows airlines to share the same flight under different codes, allowing passengers to book tickets on either airline and still enjoy the same flight experience. This partnership will provide passengers with more streamlined travel options and opportunities.
To provide this link, Atlantic Airways will use the A320neo, known for its fuel efficiency and passenger comfort. With a capacity of 174 seats, passengers can expect a comfortable and enjoyable journey across the Atlantic Ocean. The A320neo is equipped with the latest technologies and conveniences, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable travel experience.
Flight schedules
Air carrier Atlantic Airways will offer departures from FAE airport on Tuesdays at 4:30 p.m. and from Stewart Airport (SWF) on Wednesdays at 10:45 a.m. This flight takes six hours and eight minutes.
Airline tickets for a return flight are displayed from €805 including tax in economy class.
The introduction of this new service reflects the growing popularity of the Faroe Islands as a tourist destination and the increased connectivity it offers with the rest of the world. These islands, known for their natural beauty and unique culture, attract travelers looking for an experience off the beaten path. The addition of a direct flight to New York opens up even more possibilities for travelers on both sides.
For those planning a vacation to the Faroe Islands, this new connection offers an easier and more convenient way to get to this remote archipelago. Travelers can immerse themselves in untouched landscapes, hike along breathtaking cliffs and experience the warm hospitality of the Faroese people. On the other hand, Faroe Islanders now have direct access to the bustling streets of New York, with its iconic landmarks, world-class shopping and diverse food scene.
