A-List Preferred: When is this status awarded to members?

Each Southwest Airlines customer who subscribes to its Rapid Rewards loyalty program should know that the latter has two status levels, namely: A-List and A-List Preferred.
Elite status on Southwest’s Rapid Rewards program is a good option for frequent travelers. It’s even better for those traveling with others. To get Southwest A-list status, you need to complete five qualifying flights within 12 months.
In order to unlock this status which gives access to exclusive passenger privileges, you must meet one of the following conditions:
– Achieve 70,000 miles of TQP level qualifying points within a year
– Fly fifty times with Southwest in a calendar year.
Southwest Airlines advises its rewards program subscribers that TQPs are earned only when they book tickets to travel on its flights or by spending through Southwest credit cards.
Southwest Airlines A-List Preferred
A-List preferred members get free wi-fi on flights, saving them money. Their points don’t expire as long as they fly with Southwest. Points earned with this airline are worth more than those earned with other airlines because of the high earning rate.
Points earned through this status are valid for a period of two years after the last purchase or reservation made with Southwest Airlines.
This status, considered the second in the Rapird Rewards loyalty program, in terms of importance and number of privileges offered to passengers, offers them:
– Free Wi-Fi access during the flight
– Have a 100% bonus miles, get double the miles offered when buying a plane ticket.
In order to maintain this status, and continue to enjoy its full exclusive benefits, you must fly at least fifty times with Southwest in a year, or take two flights each month.

– Check-in at the airport from a Business counter
– Use a dedicated phone number
– Earn an additional bonus of 25% of miles earned on flights booked with Southwest
– Priority boarding for the passenger and other people traveling with the same reservation.
Earn A-List Preferred Status Using Southwest Credit Cards
You earn TQP points using only credit cards offered and issued by the American company. For example, when you spend $1,000 in the first three months with the Southwest Rapid Rewards card, 40,000 points are credited to your account. You earn 60,000 points if you spend $3,000 with Southwest Rapid Rewards Premier Business, and 80,000 points if your Performance Card spend reaches $5,000 during the same period.
